House Ball is a noble house from the Reach. They blazon their shields with three white plates upon a chevron red on a white field. History House Ball is an ancient house. According to tales they descend from one of the three husbands of Florys the Fox, a daughter of Garth Greenhand. Blackfyre Rebellions Ser Quentyn Ball, better known as Fireball, was the master-at-arms at the Red Keep during the reign of King Aegon IV Targaryen. Aegon promised to name Quentyn to the Kingsguard, but he died before he could fulfill that promise. When a spot opened during the reign of his son, King Daeron II Targaryen, Quentyn was passed over. This was the major contributing factor to Quentyn siding with Daemon Blackfyre during the First Blackfyre Rebellion. Quentyn slew Lord Lefford outside of Lannisport and then defeated Lord Damon Lannister in turn. Fireball rescued Daemon when Daeron sent the Kingsguard to arrest him. Quentyn slew all the sons of Lady Penrose save for the youngest, sparing him out of respect for his mother. Fireball died on the eve of the Battle of the Redgrass Field. House Ashford of Ashford is a noble house from Ashford in the Reach. It blazons its arms with a white sun-and-chevron on orange. According to semi-canon sources, their words are "Our Sun Shines Bright". History House Ashford held a tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC. Lord Ashford's sons, Ser Androw and Ser Robert, were two of the original champions of their thirteen year old sister. During the tourney an altercation occurred between Ser Duncan the Tall and Prince Aerion Targaryen. This resulted in Duncan striking the prince, claiming that he was only following the knight's vows to defend the weak. Aerion demanded a trial of seven to clear his name. Thus the tourney entered history by becoming the theater of the first trial of seven in more than a hundred years. During the trial King Daeron II Targaryen's son and heir, Prince Baelor, was slain by his own brother, Prince Maekar. Robert Baratheon was defeated at the Battle of Ashford during Robert's Rebellion. As bannermen of House Tyrell, House Ashford can be presumed to have remained loyal to King Aerys II Targaryen during Robert's Rebellion.
